Islamabad Police arrests 15 criminals including 03 bike-thieves

Islamabad, Oct. 08 (Online): Islamabad police on Tuesday arrested 15 outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered narcotics, weapons and stolen bikes from their possession.

Capital police in different round-ups recovered 01 stolen 125 bike, eight pistols, Kalashnikov, 1.30 kilogram hashish, 22 wine bottles and stolen wood worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from their possession, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.

Team of Islamabad police in different round-ups arrested Atta Masih, Sabir Khan, Aamir Niaz Shakeel, Mazhar Abbas and Pervez and recovered aforementioned material from their possessions.

Furthermore, Tarnol Police arrested a gang of bike thieves namely Nauman Mir s/o Muhammad Ramzan resident of Azad Kashmir, Sardar Khan s/o Abdul Rehman r/o Jhangi Syedan and Shehzad Farooq s/o Muhammad Sarfraz district Jhang and recovered a stolen bike from their possession.

The arrested culprits have confessed involvement in motorcycle theft in Islamabad.

Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them.

Inspector General of Police Sikandar Hayat and SSP Islamabad Muhammad Rizwan have appreciated this overall performance and directed all police officials to further intensify vigilance against the criminal elements to curb their malicious activities.

An anti-route violation unit of Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has started special checking and impounded 170 vehicles over incompletion of routes and also fined them heavily, during the last ten days.

Acting SSP Traffic Asmat Ullah Junejo constituted the unit on the special directions of IGP Islamabad Sikandar Hayat. The objective of this unit is to facilitate the passengers, address their complaints and avoid inconvenience to them during travel in Capital City on public transport vans.

The unit conducted checking at routes numbers, 1,3,21,24,104,105,110,111,115,120,121,121A,122,122A,124,127,133,136,138 during the last ten days and impounded a total of 170 vehicles besides heavy fines to them.

Acting SSP (Traffic) said that commuters or passengers can lodge their complaints at 1915 and police staff would ensure remedial actions. He said that members of this unit have been also deployed at various bus stops to ensure immediate action on public complaints.
Islamabad Police have arrested 30 suspects during search operation in various areas of the city and also impounded 84 bikes and 20 vehicles being driven without documents.

The Inspector General of police Islamabad Sikandar Hayat has directed all heads of police stations to continue search operation as well as vigilance in their respective areas. He has directed police officials to ensure effective security and patrolling measures in their respective areas.

“Police officials have been directed to take strict action against vehicles being driven without documents and criminal elements,” said spokesman Islamabad Police.

The IGP Islamabad Sikandar Hayat and SSP Islamabad Muhammad Rizwan has appreciated the overall performance and directed all police officials to further intensify their efforts for effective policing.
