Survey report on damages submitted to authorities

TURBAT Oct 8 (PPI): After completion of survey of damages caused by earthquake to government and private properties in Kech district a report in this regard was submitted to District Commissioner office.
According to official sources, after devastating earthquake that hit two union councils of district Kech the local administration started relief and rescue works. Similarly, concerned authorities of Revenue Department had completed their first phase survey on emergency basis.
Assistant Commissioner Kech Muhammad Qasim Baloch in a briefing in this connection here on Tuesday said on the directives of Commissioner Makran Division Engineer Abdul Fateh Bangar the local administration started relief activities in the affected areas after getting access. “So far 2500 affected families have been provided relief goods, including that of ration, 1300 families have been given tents, 1534 bags of flour, 2090 packets of rations and other eatable items,” he added.
AC Kech said medical aid was being provided to the affected areas, including Nigordandar, Hashal Kuda Elahi Bakhsh Bazaar, Rodkain Shahdad Bazaar, Pir Muhammad Bazaar, Tank, Hoshab Growk, Hoshab Sindh Bazaar and other suburbs. He said that the requirement of 3 Basic Health Units (BHU) was met through the 20 cottons medicines provided by Pakistan Navy. “The local staff of PPHI is discharging their duties with dedication in affected areas,” he added.
AC Kech Qasim Baloch said that the earthquake affected people were being provided water bowsers provided by local government Turbat, adding that three water schemes were affected due to quake in the area in which one of them had been repaired and the rest would be repaired soon.
Quoting Revenue Department’s initial team survey, he said the earthquake on Sept 24, affected 92 shops and hotels, in Dandar area of Kech district, 29 government offices, 2090 houses.
He said that 10 government schools had been also caved in due to powerful jolts while in union council Blor several private and government properties had been partially damaged and the final report of damages of private and government properties would soon be prepared. “Relief activities would continue in affected areas till complete rehabilitation of all affected people,” AC Kech said, adding 1000 tents given by PDMA would be dispatched to affected areas
