CDA to promote healthy activities: Chairman

Islamabad, October 13 (Online): The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will provide all available resources for promotion of healthy activities such as sports in the federal capital because a healthy body is reflective of healthy mind.

Chairman CDA, Nadeem Hassan Asif said this on the eve of prize distribution ceremony of final cricket match of under-14 cricket tournament organized by Margalla Gymkhana Cricket Academy (MGCA) here at Shalimar cricket ground on Sunday.

While talking to the children, the chairman CDA said that such healthy activities would have a positive impact in building up their personalities and promotion of healthy activities in future. He said that children should participate in extra circular activities like sports, it would enable them to meet the challenges of future.

The tournament was organized by MGCA at Shalimar cricket ground. In final match Stalians beat Hawks by chasing the target of 151 runs in 19.1 over’s
Mr Talat Hussain, member of the governing body said that it was an effort towards talent hunt and in creating awareness about sports in children.

He said that this was one month summer camp during which teams of selected children were made and tournament was organized in order to create importance of competition among them. And toady was the final contest of this tournament, he added.

He further said that MCGA started its activities four (04) years back but today is the formal launching of this cricket academy. He said that the objective of this academy is to provide cricket facilities to the residents of Islamabad and to mobilize them to send their children to play grounds for such healthy activities.

The Chairman CDA awarded trophies and certificates to the winner and runners up teams and officials of the tournament.

Chairman CDA appreciated the initiative of MGCA and assured them for full co-operation for such healthy activities in the city.
