LAHORE, October 13 (Online): The Punjab Minister for Excise & Taxation, Finance Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman has said that campaign against dengue fever is
a continues effort and we will uphold our campaign against this curse.
Addressing participants of dengue awareness walk at Chowk Nakhuda, he said that Punjab government has provided 19 percent additional budget for the provision of health services in Punjab. He said that by increasing the health budget up to 102 billion rupees, the present government has ensured modern health facilities and free medicines to the masses.
He said that ulema have deep respect among the masses, therefore, they should communicate protective steps regarding dengue virus to the public in their
individual as well as collective contacts.
Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman said that during last year elected representatives played a commendable role in promoting public awareness against dengue, whereas, every effort will be made by the government to prevent dengue virus taking serious proportions during current season.
He said that ulema can successfully execute the awareness campaign in mosques especially during prayer hours to the society. He said that in present
season, with the cooperation of masses, we would be succeeded to control over the dengue virus and all available resources are being utilized for this purpose.
Meanwhile inaugurating District Lahore Weightlifting Championship at Shadbagh, Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman said that youth must utilize their
spare time in sports because these activities bring regularity in their routine life and such events build up a positive thinking among the youth.
The Minister said that sports event plays vital role for the development of positive activities among the youngsters whereas Pakistan has atmosphere
and seasons for the promotion of all types of games.
Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman said that youth are future of our nation and we have to provide them latest scientific education and technology.
The present era of competition has made the world a global village and only those nations would lead the world as well as compete who will get latest technology and education, he concluded.
