ISLAMABAD, Oct 14 (Online): Regional Manager of UK Home Office International Operations and Visas for Pakistan and Gulf Mandy Ivemy has said that about sixty-eight percent of the students get visas for study in the United Kingdom.

In an interview with state-run media on Monday‚ she said there is no quota or cap on the number of visas and all those fulfilling the criteria and meeting immigration requirements are granted visas.

Ivemy said that there is also no discrimination and the rules for grant of visas are the same for all countries.
Replying to a question, the UK official said those applying for student visa must have a certain amount of money in their own account or joint account with parents.

She added that the students seeking UK visa should make sure that the educational institutions they intend to join are genuine and up to the mark and approved by the UK Government. She also cautioned against fraudulent visa agents.

To a question, she said students can also work in the United Kingdom but it depends on the course they are doing.
