QUETTA, Oct 16 (APP): Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik
Baloch Wednesday said in view of the law and order situation, Frontier
Constabulary (FC) was granted police powers.
Fifty per cent unnecessary checkposts of the FC, however, have been abolished from the city, he said while talking to reporters after offering Eid prayers here at the CM Secretariat.
He said additional checkposts in the city area had been removed
whereas FC personnel were still deployed in Hazara Town and Mariabad
to ensure security to the Hazara community.
To a question, Dr Malik said the federal government had sufficient
proof of external involvement in Balochistan unrest.
Dr Baloch said the government had not forgotten the earthquake
victims on Eid day and dispatched relief goods and bouquets for them.
