21 foreign students arrested from two seminaries in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA, Sept 15 (INP): The security forces and officials of secret agencies arrested 21 foreign students from two seminaries headed by former MNA here on Sunday.

According to reports, security forces raided two seminaries, Mazaher ul Uloom and Anwar ul Uloom - headed by former MNA Qazi Hamidullah, the teacher of Mullah Umar.

During joint operation the security forces arrested 21 foreign students.

Identity of the detainees has not been disclosed and all of them have been transferred to some secret place for further investigation.

Sources however said that the nabbed students hail from Afghanistan and northern area of the country.

It is worth to mention here that Qazi Hamidullah was elected MNA by defeating PML-N’s candidate Khurram Dastgir Khan in the general elections of 2002.

He is accounted among teachers of martial leader of Taliban Mullah Umar who did not surrender before NATO forces for more than 10 years.
