Lal Masjid case: JIT to record statements, collect evidences

ISLAMABAD, Oct 24 (Online): Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to probe Lal Masjid case against former president Pervez Musharraf Thursday decided to record statements and collect evidences from all witnesses.

It was decided in a meeting of JIT here in City Police Officer’s (CPO) office, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) headquarters, Khalid Khattak headed the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the plea filed by Haroon Rasheed, son of Ghazi Abdul Rasheed, evidences and CDs and decided that the JIT would record statements of all witnesses of Lal Masjid operation.

For the purpose, Lal Masjid Shuhda Foundation would bring all witnesses in Aabpara police station where they will record statements before JIT members.

On the other hand, Former President General Pervez Musharraf’s remand would end today (on Friday), and the JIT would seek extension in judicial remand of Pervez Musharraf from police Magistrate, Malik Amaan to complete investigations.

Members of Joint Investigation Team, SSP Headquarters Sajid Kiyani, SP Sadar Jamil Hashmi, ASP City Yasir Afridi, SHO Aabpara Qasim Niazi and two other investigation officers attended the meeting.
