LAHORE, Oct 25 (Online): Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought the reply from the vice chancellors of 100 universities on the petition filed against National Testing Service (NTS).

In LHC justice Mansoor Ali Shah heard the case, where officials of 25 universities appeared in court.

Counsel of petitioner Anum Iliyas argued in court that her client has been declared failed in NTS examination held for admission in Phd without any reason. So court should issue the order to abolish this private institution naming NTS.

Registrars and officials of several universities argued before the court that some universities has declared the NTS exam compulsory, however many universities give admissions to students by conducting their own tests.

They further said, a national level testing service institute should be established under Higher Education Commission in regard to give admission to the students willing for high education at national level.

The establishing of such institute at national level will eliminate the monopoly of any private institute naming NTS, and it is also pleaded to court to issue the orders of legislation also in this regard.

On this, court issuing the notice to vice chancellors of 100 more universities demanding their reply on this issue adjourned the hearing till December 13.
