Quetta blast leaves 4 people dead, 17 injured

Quetta, October 30 (Online): At least four persons were killed in a car blast in Quetta, capital of restive province of Balochistan, officials said on Wednesday.

According to local police, a powerful blast occurred on Double Road also known Zarghoon Road near NADRA office in Quetta city.

Officials said bomb was planted in a car parked on the scene, blast was such powerful that it destroyed several other vehicles parked nearby while glasses of windows in nearby building were also broken.

Another blast was heard on scene minutes after first one, officials believed it was explosion of gas cylinder of a vehicle damaged in first blast.

Blast took place during rush hours in busy place of the troubled city.

Rescue teams and security forces rushed to the scene soon after blast occurred.

17 injured were shifted to Bolan Medical Complex while four bodies were also brought to hospital.

Medics say condition of many wounded were critical which feared increase in casualties.

Security forces also cordoned off the area and started investigations.

Quetta, capital of Balochistan has been witnessing violence since many years where terrorists, Baloch rebel groups and sectarian extremists targeting security forces and innocent people.
