Ambassadors-designate call on President

Islamabad, November 1 (Online): Nine ambassadors designated, Friday, separately called on President Mamnoon Hussain here at Aiwan-e-Sadr and discussed matters pertaining to their new assignments.

The President felicitated the newly appointed envoys and urged them to focus on further cementing Pakistan’s bilateral relations and multifaceted cooperation with the countries of their respective posting

These ambassadors included, ambassador-designate to Libya Lt. Gen ® Javed Zia, Ambassador-Designate to Belgium and the EU Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Ambassador-designate to Denmark Mr. Masroor Ahmed Junejo , Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Norway Abdul Hamid, Ambassador-designate to Romania Ayaz Muhammad Khan, Ambassador-designate to Poland Dr. Khalid Hussain Memon, Ambassador-Designate to Greece Dr. Saeed Khan Mohmand and Ambassador-Designate to the Philippines Safdar Hayat separately called on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e-Sadr today and discussed matters pertaining to their new assignments.

The President on the occasion highlighted that present government attaches great importance to the development of trade and economic cooperation as an integral part of its foreign policy objectives. He emphasized on robust pursuance of economic diplomacy by diplomats to further underpin economic footprint of Pakistan in European Union and other countries of their posting.

The President expressed hope that the newly appointed envoys would work with full devotion for further strengthening Pakistan’s trade and commercial ties with Belgium and EU, Denmark, Greece, Libya, Norway, Philippines, Poland and Romania. He also underscored the need for increased rapport with the Pakistani community in their countries of assignment and extending them every possible support and facilitation in resolving their problems.

The envoys designate thanked the President for meeting and assured that they would earnestly work to augment Pakistan’s bilateral relations with the countries of their posting with particular focus on enhancing trade, business and investment ties.
