Punjab Government to provide foolproof security in Muharram: Shuja Khanzada

LAHORE, Nov 06 (Online): Provincial minister for Environment Protection and Chairman Police Reforms Committee, Shuja Khanzada has said that government has made foolproof arrangements in the city for the security of mourning congregations and processions.

He stated this during his visit to Imam Bargahs and the route of main mourning processions to review the security arrangements during the month of Muharram ul Haram.

Shuja Khanzada said that a comprehensive security plan has been evolved during Muharam-ul-Harram under which 20,000 security officials would be deployed for security purpose in the city.

He said a control room has been established in District Coordination Office (DCO) to monitor the security arrangements of Imam Bargahs and the routes of processions.

Minister further said that cameras will be installed on the route of mourning processions and walk through gates will be erected on entry points to avoid any unpleasant incident.
