RAWALPINDI, Nov 21 (INP): The security has been beefed up in the garrison city on the pattern of day after Youme Ashur mayhem in the backdrop of a call for protest of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) on Friday.

The government has devised a security plan, keeping the sensitivity of the situation and to avoid clashes and any untoward situation.

Police personnel have been deployed at sensitive places and Imambargahs across Rawalpindi and Islamabad, while security officials will also be deputed at mosques at the time of Friday prayers. Implementation of loud speaker act will also be ensured strictly.

Meanwhile, government prohibited gatherings, rallies and demonstrations on Friday in Islamabad. Section 144 is already in place in Rawalpindi banning gathering four or more persons.

On the other hand people in the twin cities are scared that there would be some sort of retaliation to the 10th Muharram incident despite appeals by the Ulema for maintaining peace and order in the city.
