C'Wealth of Learning, Canada supports AIOU upgrading MBA programme

ISLAMABAD, September 15 (Online): Commonwealth of Learning (COL) Canada has been providing necessary support and guidance for upgrading its MBA programme, making it relevant to the current business and marketing requirement of the country.
The program has been successful going on since 2003 and was highly appreciated by the COL, this was informed to a meeting held here under the chairman of Vice Chancellor AIOU Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi The meeting was attended by the University Deans and academicians.
The meeting reviewed the up-gradation and implantation process of MBA’s academic programs. It was noted there has been upward trend in the students’ enrolment in the MBA program in the recent years.
The Vice Chancellor emphasized that the MBA education should be a source of promoting an efficient business and marketing network in the country. The AIOU, he added would make all possible endeavour to provide updated research-based education to its students on all its academic programs.
He assured that the teaching methods and research-evolution process will be further strengthened to meet the required of the students. The AIOU will be extensively apply video-conferencing technology for upgrading teaching level at the higher-education level, particularly in running the classes of MBA at study centres. The video conferencing network has been set up set up at almost the university’s main campuses.
All the study centres will be gradually linked with main resource centre through video conferencing in order to ensure equal access to quality education, said the t was decided that a strong mechanism will be evolved to effectively address the problems and issues relating to the MBA’s programs, so that it could meet the international standard and enable the students to serve the nation in a better way.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Rashid A. Naeem, Dean of Social Science, Majed Rashid, Director E-Learning, Syed Hassan Raza, chairman Department of Business Administration and Assistant Prof. Muhammad Ayub Sheikh.
It may be mentioned here the time duration to complete the Commonwealth MBA/MPA degree is minimum two years and maximum five years. It is mandatory for the enrolled students to complete the course work as well as the research project in the stipulated time period for getting the degree.
The students who will not pass the courses and research project in maximum five years, they do not qualify for the award of degree.
The University has developed the re-registration rules after detailed consultation with the Commonwealth of Learning., the same have been approved by the statutory bodies for re-registration of those students who have not completed the program in the specified time period. Those students have been asked to contact the department of Business Administration for the re-registration.
The controller of exams will issue the requisite degree upon completion of the academic formalities by the student as prescribed in the re-registration rules and regulation.
