Security for Chinese working on mega projects tightened

SARGODHA, 26 Nov (Online): The government has tightened the security for 101 Chinese nationals working on various mega projects over possible terrorism threats.
Interior Ministry has passed special directives to security personnel in this regard, including revamping of a conducive strategy plan for security, restricting the outdoor movement of Chinese personnel, who have also been advised to seek clearance before venturing outside.
Police estimated that currently there were 2,272 Chinese nationals working on various projects in Punjab, out of which 23 projects have been declared as being A+ category over their importance and sensitivity, followed by 22 in B category.
Some 4,141 security personnel are deputed to protect these Chinese nationals, which according to police sources include 962 police, 321 rangers, 280 Army men, and 2,578 of security personnel.
