Terror bid foiled in Peshawar, BDS defuses powerful bomb

Peshawar, Dec. 07 (Online): Police on Saturday foiled a terror bid in terrorism-hit capital of restive province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by defusing a powerful bomb, officials said.
According to local police bomb was found in the Khazana area of Peshawar, where police was informed about the bomb.
Police officials said the bomb was planted in the middle of the patch of road in Khazana area.
Upon receiving information, police called the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) to defuse the bomb.
The BDS through water charges defused the 1.5 kilogram bomb, foiling a major terrorist attack in the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,
Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, lies on the edge of Pakistan's tribal areas which have been labelled by Washington as the main sanctuary for Al Qaeda and Taliban militants in the country.
The city has seen frequent attacks by militants in the past few years, with targets ranging from civilians to policemen and other law enforcement personnel.
