KARACHI, Dec 26 (INP): The Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) Ayaz Soomro has reportedly tendered resignation as member National Assembly paving way for his party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to contest by-elections.

Soomro, who was elected MNA from NA-204 Larkana, has quit the seat on the directives of party leadership, and now Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the only son of former president Asif Ali Zardari, will contest by-elections on the seat.

Sources said Soomro is likely to be made Adviser to CM Sindh on legal affairs.

NA-204 has always been a PPP stronghold, with Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Nusrat Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto winning from this constituency.

The party leadership advised Bilawal to contest elections from Nawabshah. However, Bilawal expressed wish to contest polls from Larkana, which was accorded.
