Cold spell to persist during next 48 hours, Murree records -8 C

ISLAMABAD Dec 31 (APP): Met office has forecast very cold
and dry weather would continue in most parts of the country, while
isolated light rain and snow may fall over the hills in Malakand
division and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next 48 hours.
A westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and
is likely to move eastward during next 12 hours, the met office said
and added, cloudy weather conditions with light rain and snowfall
over the hills is expected at isolated places of
Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Peshawar, Malakand,
Hazara divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan
during the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, very cold and dry weather would
continue elswhere in the country.
On Tuesday, Kalat was the coldest place in the country with
-16 degrees centigrade (C), followed by Quetta -12 C , Skardu -12 C,
Dalbandin -9 C, Parachinar -8 C, Murree -8 C, Nokkundi -8 C,
Rawalakot -6 C, Gupis -6 C, and Malamjabba -6 C.
While the following freezing temperatures were also recorded
at some other cities on Tuesday at 5 am: Hunza -5 C, Zhob -5 C,
Khuzdar -4 C, Gilgit -3 C, Islamabad -2 C, Abbottabad -2 C, Sukkar
-1 C, Peshawar 0 C, Rawalpindi 0 C, Bannu 0 C, Chitral 0 C,
Jacobabad 0 C, Sibbi 0 C, Jhelum 1 C, Larkana 1 C, Muzaffarabad 1
C, Shaheed Benazirabad 1 C, Lahore 2 C, Faisalabad 2 C,
Mandi-Bahaudin 2 C, Mianwali 2 C, Multan 2 C, Bahawalpur 2 C,
D.I.Khan 2 C, Sargodha 2 C, Sialkot 2 C, Turbat 2 C, Kohat 3 C, Dera
