Two Medical Officers suspended on basis of absence from duties

QUETTA: The Provincial Health Department has suspended two medical officers posted in the Rural Health Center (RHC) Barshore.
According to an official notification issued here, the senior Medical Officer, Dr. Naseebullah and Medical Officer, Dr. Attaullah have been suspended on the grounds of long absence from their duties.
It may be mentioned here that the Health Department had also dismissed 84 Lady Health Workers (LHWs) of the department including their four supervisors due to absence from their respective duties.
According to the Secretary Health, Abdul Saboor Kakar, around 900 LHWs had been performing in the department. Of them, four health supervisors and 90 LHWs were absent from their duties for quite long time. They were also not taking part in the anti-polio campaigns launched in different parts of the province, the Secretary Health maintained.
The Lady Health Supervisors and LHWs had been served the show cause notices, but still they did not turn up on their duties.
On this, all the 84 Health Workers have been dismissed from their services, the Secretary maintained.
All the dismissed Lady Health Supervisors and Health Workers belong to Quetta district.
The Secretary Health warned that absence of the health officials as well as doctors and paramedics would not be tolerated at all. So, every one has to perform well.
