Eid Miladun Nabi (SAW) to be observed amidst tough security

QUETTA: Eid Miladun Nabi (SAW) is being observed today (Tuesday) in the provincial metropolis amidst tough security.
While the extra ordinary security arrangements have been made by the provincial government and the concerned law enforcement agencies, the cellular phone service would also remain suspended from 07:00 AM to 05:00 PM in the metropolis.
The spokesman of Police told that the Quetta city has been divided into eight sectors from the security point of view. He told that around 3,200 personnel of the police, Balochistan Constabulary and Frontier Corps would be deployed on the route and other parts of the metropolis. The Pak army troops would also remain stand-by to act in case of any emergency.
The monitoring of the main procession of the Eid Miladun Nabi (SAW) and its route would be made through close circuit TV (CCTV) cameras.
Pillion riding is already banned in the metropolis under Section 144. The route of the procession would be thoroughly screened.
Meanwhile, the FC has also prepared its own security plan on the eve of 12th Rabiul Awwal.
Under the plan, the personnel of the FC would perform the security duties in different parts of the city. The patrolling would also be done by the FC personnel to keep a strict vigil on the situation.
Main procession schedule:
The main procession in connection with the Eid Miladud Nabi (SAW) would be taken out from Bacha Khan chowk.
The procession would pass through Liaquat Bazar, Junction chowk, Prince road, Masjid road, Shahrah-e-Iqbal and terminate at Manan chowk.
A meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Abdul Latif Kakar had also reviewed the arrangements made for the Eid Miladun Nabi (SAW).
The meeting had also decided to celebrate the day with religious fervor and respect like the past.
The meeting also decided to make separate arrangement for parking of the vehicles of procession.
The volunteers would be issued security passes. No vehicle would be allowed to join the procession, it was decided further.
