ITP provides assistance to 1378 road users

ISLAMABAD, March 18 (Online): Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), during the two and half month, provided help to 1378 road users whose vehicles met accident on various roads of the city or had faced any other problem like running out of fuel.
On directions of the Federal Minister for Interior Ch Nisar Ali Khan, ITP is working extensively for improving the traffic system, making it more helpful for the users and ensuring smooth flow of traffic in Islamabad.
The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) help unit, which had been working round the clock, provides assistance in various shifts.
AIG (Operations) Sultan Azam Temuri said that ITP is endeavoring best to ensure safe road environment in the city.
He added the ITP has involved community in its affairs to achieve the desired targets of disciplined traffic and equal implementation of law with zero tolerance against violation of rules.
He said that due to community participation, the ITP is successfully implementing its policing affairs and this force is getting success due to its friendly policing culture.
He appealed the citizens to cooperate with traffic police and follow traffic rules in true letter and spirit.
He said that performance of ITP is very much satisfactory and it has succeeded in ensuring safe road environment in the city within a very short span of time.
He assured to continue programs for the safety of road users in future too so that motorists in Islamabad can be provided safe road environment.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Malik Matloob Hussain has said the ITP officers and jawans are working in the help unit to facilitate road users and provide them help in case of any emergency on roads. He said the road users, facing any problem, can call 1915, the help unit's contact number, so that they could be provided immediate assistance.
He maintained that the policing was a service-providing job and every possible effort was being made to maintain close liaison with the people. ITP help unit repaired 679 vehicles, changed the tyres of 143 vehicles and pushed 130 vehicles and provided pick and drop service to 163 vehicle owners. He said 183 vehicles were provided assistance after running out their fuel, while 69 pedestrians were also provided help by this unit of
ITP.
The SSP (Traffic) Malik Matloob said that police is a service oriented organization and every possible help would be made to ensure community policing through assistance to road users by ITP.
