Islamabad, Mar 18 (Online): Traders Action Committee, Islamabad has threatened to launch a strong protest against organizing any industrial exhibition in Islamabad.
Ajmal Baloch, Central Organizing Secretary of Traders Action Committee, Islamabad said that ICT Administration had signed an agreement with Traders Action Committee for not allowing any industrial exhibition in Islamabad and if any such exhibition was held in the federal area, traders would launch a strong protest against it.
He said Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce was reportedly planning to organize an industrial exhibition in Convention Center, Islamabad in April 2014, which would be in total violation of the agreement signed between traders and local administration. He called upon the ICT Administration and CDA Chairman to immediately cancel the NOC for said exhibition, otherwise, traders will take every possible step to safeguard their business interests. He said any if protest movement created any law & order situation in the city, the NOC issuing authorities for exhibition would be held responsible.
Ajmal Baloch said that the then Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Mr. Amjad Nazir had signed an agreement with Traders Action Committee and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry for not allowing industrial exhibition in the federal capital as it badly affected the business of traders in markets. According to the agreement, even ICCI could not organize any industrial exhibition without the approval of traders as well as the relevant authorities and he wondered who Women Chamber was allowed to organize such an activity.
He warned all those who were booking stalls in Convention Center for said exhibition to desist from such approach as they could lose money because traders would not allow any such venture. He also called a meeting of Traders Action Committee to discuss future course of action in the matter.
