QUETT A mar 22 (PPI); Provincial Health Minister Rehmat Saleh Baloch has said health Department would run a coordinate programme and organsie 3-day polio drive before March 24. During the campaign he added children of ages from 6 months to 5 years would also be administered Vitamin A drops along with anti polio vaccines.
He said this at a Press conference here Saturday.
Health Minister regretted that Federation did not devolve powers under 18 th amendment to the provinces. It was creating problems for us. He aid he took up the matter with high ups who assured that besides vesting powers in the provinces funds would also be transferred to them.
He said a survey on health of mother and children was conducted in Balochistan in 2011. This survey revealed that 61 percent of children suffer from Vitamin A deficiency. To cope with this situation health Department evolved an effective policy to overcome polio and other fatal diseases in the days ahead. He said three day anti polio drive would be launched in March and October. Anti polio drive to being on March 24 children would be fed with Vitamin A drops along with anti polio vaccine.
