Governor-Balochistan Sports Festival

QUETTA mar 29 (PPI): Balochistan Sports Festival was aimed at to provide healthy opportunities to the youth to further develop their capabilities so that they brighten name of the province and the country not only at the national but at the international levels.
This was stated by Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai at the closing ceremony of Balochistan Sports Festival here Saturday.
Commander Southern Command Lt General Nasser Khan Janjua also attended.
Provincial ministers, MPAs, senior civil and military officers and large number of people were present.
Congratulating Government of Balochistan, Pakistan Army and all organizers for successful organizing Sports Festival Governor said that its commencement coincided with Pakistan Day. Theme song of Sports Festival “Hum hein Pakistani hum sey he Pakistan†truly represents national solidarity. He aid he considers this mela people’s confidence in the present government.
He said present government of Balochistan will continue its efforts for promotion of Sports, Culture and other extra curricular activities so that our younger generation can play its role effectively with positive thinking and attitude for the progress and prosperity of the country and nation.
Governor said during the festival 27 events were contested and 2274 players including 451 female players took part and showed their skill. He congratulated all the players who not only made this event successful due to their participation but gave message to the world youth of Balochistan are not less than any one in the field of Sports. They also desire peace and harmony. He aid besides Teachers Day, Artistes Day, Yom e Shuhada, Special Children’s Day were specially organized to pay tributes to these important pillars of society.
He said in the past important sports events were held in the past including playing of football by Balochistan players in Kolkata Muhammadan. Iran’s national football also visited Balochistan. Different sporting events were also held during Sibi Mela.
Governor said there is need that these sporting activities should continue today so that our youngsters could get their status in this field as well.
He said our province is gripped with bad situation for the past two three decades and fear and lawlessness prevailed every where. But for the past some time situation has improved and credit for it goes to present government, national leadership and Army. We are committed we would give a secure and prosperous atmosphere to our younger generation.
Governor Achakzai said it it our promise with you and he was sure and it is your commitment.
He proposed that scouting and girls guides should be revived at the schools and sports activities should be promoted. He aid he was hopeful people of Balochistan and provincial government would ensure holding Sports Festival every year.
Provincial Sports Minister Mujeebur Rehman Muhammad Hassani in his address highlighted details of activities during Sports Festival. He aid it was aimed at spreading message of peace and love and we succeeded in our objective. He said provincial government would continue to provide healthy occasions for youth of the province ad work for their promotion.
Earlier a colourful programme including band show, Pashto and Balochi songs, regional dances, flower show and Karate demonstration was presented.
