Banned group member killed in Lyari shootout

KARACHI Apr 26 (Online): A member of a banned group killed in a shootout with Rangers personnel in Darya Abad area of Lyari, a Rangers man was injured in the incident on Saturday.
According to a spokesman, Rangers and Police personnel conducted a raid in Darya Abad for arrest of the members of an outlawed group. The accused opened fire at the law enforcers injuring a Rangers official, in counter firing a man was killed who was identified as Qari Noshad.
A large quantity of munitions including 146 hand grenades, two LMG rifles, and six rockets were captured in the raid, the Sindh Rangers spokesman said.
The accused was said to be involved in planning of attacks on judiciary, the spokesman added.
Moreover, after Friday's bomb attack, police conducted late night raids in Delhi Colony and surrounding areas and detained over 30 suspects.
The FIR of yesterday's bomb attack in Gizri has been registered at Frere Police Station against unknown accused under Anti-Terrorism Act.
The Friday's bomb attack killed six persons, while 29 others were injured in the incident.
A man was killed in Zia Colony of Orangi by unknown gunmen. A dead body with bullet wounds found from Katti Pahari area.
