ISLAMABAD, September 17 (Online): Chairman Senate’s Standing Committee on Defence, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed has said that a new cold war in the region has started as the United States of America lost the battle in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He was speaking to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs here on Tuesday.
Mushahid Hussain said that Egypt and Syria have also slipped away from the grip of USA due to wrong policy, whereas her interest in Saudi Arabia is also on the stake.
He said that in these circumstances Pentagon has announced a new intelligence force to spy in Iran and China. He said that a new thought is being developed in Pakistan and Afghanistan that the decision regarding regional interests should be made in Islamabad and Kabul instead of Washington.

“Whereas on the other hand it is going to sign a deal with Afghanistan to grant eight billion dollars per annum on account of development , military and civil aid. The agreement would be signed within two months. Same kind of accords would be inked with Germany, Britain and other countriesâ€, Mushahid added.
