Community workshop on saving mothers

QUETTA May 11 (PPI): All the employees of Health Department have to play their role to save mothers dying during delivery in the province. Ending deliveries at home and small age marriages has become inevitable.
These views were expressed by Dr Nabeela Sultan Provincial Coordinator MCH while addressing Lady Health workers, Community midwives, Lady Doctors of BHU at Saving Mothers in Community Awareness workshop organised by Mercy Corps.
She said health workers whether doctors or lady health workers, community midwives should go door to door in rural areas and apprised mothers and mothers in laws of damages of deliveries at home besides promotion of health deduction. Ending professional jealousies at their health centres they should pay attention on pregnant women coming to their centres to remove dangers to health. Because women working in health sector can help minimize ratio of mortality among mothers. She said providing health facilities in remote areas of Balochistan is big challenge for the government. Government with Marcy Corps was working for the access of medicines suggested by World health organization to Provostol community level and health centres.
Provincial Advocacy Coordinator RAF Naseer Hamal told that areas where health centres are at distance and there is tradition of deliveries at home people area appealed to carry out this delivery by an expert midwife. After delivery three medicines of Provostal should be used. These are included in Government’s MSD list and are available easily every where.
District Coordinator Muhammad Ali Kakar apprised about project in detail.
Ms Gul Nigar conducted Group Work and showed her abilities for successful organising the programme.
