Polio Centre at Quetta Airport opened

QUETTA may 31 (PPI): Hectic measures were underway for the elimination of polio from Belching and Pakistan and all available resources were being mobilized in this connection.
This was state by provincial Secretary Health Arshad Hussain Bugti while opening Polio/International Vaccination Centre at Quetta Airport Saturday.
Deputy Commissioner Quetta Abdul Latif Kakar, Director General Health Dr Naseer Baloch, Deputy Director Health Services Dr Essa Khan, Immigration Officer FIA Zafar Iqbal Niazi, Superintendent Customs Dr Sher Ahmed Sarangzai, Qazi Ilyas form PIA and others were also present.
Secretary health said that a campaign was launched in the province for the elimination of olio. Now travelers to foreign countries from all provinces of Pakistan would be fed polio drops and certificates would be issued. He aid children of five years of age would be administered polio drops every time of journey and passengers proceeding abroad would be fed polio drops once a year and they would be issued polio health certificates. After issuance of cards they would travel to foreign countries. This facility ahs been provided by PIA services only.
He said initially passengers of foreign flights would be given polio drops. It would be followed by feeding fo polio drops to passengers on domestic flights.
He said government was earnestly desire to eliminate this fatal disease from the country and the province so that our coming generations are saved from it.
