ISLAMABAD, July 1 (Online): Claiming that there had been zero civilian casualties since the launch of Operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan, Federal Minister for SAFRON, Lt General (Retd), Abdul Qadir Baloch Tuesday said the government and Pakistan Army were utilizing all available resources to make the action a roaring success.
“All the persons killed during operation in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) were terroristsâ€, Baloch told a private TV channel.
The minister reiterated that government was doing whatever it could to provide utmost assistance to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of NWA.
“They are being facilitated with food, shelter, potable water, security, healthcare, and transportâ€, Baloch said. He said that the government had set up relief camps all across the province for them. “We have so far distributed Rs2 billion among IDPsâ€, said he.
To a question he said that operation was launched to maintain peace in all parts of the country and not just Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“Pakistan Army has launched a decisive operation to eliminate the menace of terrorism from this region once and for allâ€, the minister said. Abdul Qadir Baloch, also appealed to the fellow countrymen to come forward and help the IDPs in this hour of need.
