Seminar on AIDS/HIV

QUETTA July 21 (PPI): Government of Balochistan would extend full cooperation to organizations working for checking HIV/AIDS in the province. After 18 th amendment International donors are bound to provide funds to the provinces to continue health related programmes.
This was stated by Provincial health Minister Rehmat Saleh Baloch while addressing a seminar organized by Nai Roshni and Provincial AIDS Control Programme here Monday.
Director General Health Balochistan Dr Naseer Baloch, Dr Fareed, Tariq Jaffar, Amanullah Kakar and others also spoke.
Rehmat Baloch said some people in Islamabad create impression to international donors that law and order situation in Balochistan is bad. Factually it has no relation to reality. Law and order in the province is much better than other provinces.
He said after 18 th amendment international donors are bound to provide funds to the provinces to continue health related programmes. He said international donors should continue to provide funding for health programmes instead of ending them to help people get rid of fatal diseases.
Health Minister said soon screening of all jails in the province would be carried out and programmes on creating awareness among the people about AIDS in far flung areas.
