Pakistan, Iran to adopt coordinated strategy: Communique

QUETTA Aug 7 (PPI): Pakistan and Iran would adopt a coordinated strategy to further strengthen brotherly relations among them. Borders between two countries would be kept open round the year for promotion of trade activities
A communique issued at the end of two day joint Pakistan Iran border commission meeting here Thursday said.
Officers of NHA, Customs, Railways and Chamber of Commerce were also present.
Pakistan delegation as led by Collector Customs Zahoor Akhtar Raja while Iranian side was headed by President Industry Mines trade Organisation Sistan Balochistan province of Iran Nadir Mir shaker.
Communique said two countries expressed commitment for promotion of trade activities and resolution of problems of business community.
It decided that Pak-Iran border would remain open round the year and border can be crossed from 0730 am till 0530 pm Paksitan time.
It was also agreed that Iran would setup Customs check psots at Kohak, Pishin, Mir Java and Zahidan and Pakistan would open Customs posts at Mand, Panjgur and Gwadar besides Taftan. Commercial banks would also be opened at joint border for promotion of legal trade.
Two sides also held talks on further activating diplomatic contacts for air services and strengthening railways network, two way trade and increasing volume of trade besides provision of drinking water, telephone, electricity and Internet facilities at the check posts.
Pakistan and Iran delegations also signed MoU at the end of the meeting.
