QUETTA Aug 11 (PPI): Frontier Corps and government have taken all possible measures to foil evil designs of anti state elements on August 14. People would come out of their homes without any fear and celebrate the day with great respect.
Frontier Corps was playing its role for promotion of sports including education in Balochistan. Boxing bouts would also be organized like other games. We are proud of International boxer like Waseem.
These views were expressed by Inspector General Frontier corps Balochistan major General Muhammad Ejaz Shahid while speaking to Newsmen after awarding honorary shield and prize to Waseem Ahmed. He had won Silver Medal in the Commonwealth Games. Waseem belongs to Balochistan.
Babae Sports Atta Muhammad Kakar was also present on the occasion.
IG FC said T20 tournament was organised recently. It is endeavour of FC to mobile all resources for promotion of education and sports besides restoration of peace in the province. He said Fc in days ahead would also organize boxing competition and the club form where Waseem got training would be extended cooperation to keep it working.
He said national heroes are asset of nation. Waseem Ahmed is hero of Pakistan. He was first Balochistan and then Pakistani hero who won silver medal in Commonwealth Games and brightened names of Balochistan and Pakistan.
He said FC would sponsor Waseem Ahmed for all competitions.
Answering a question he said had he knowledge Waseem Ahmed was coming to Quetta he would have taken measures for his welcome by FC.
He said August 14 is day of our independence. To ensure peace on this day we have evolved a security plan along with other law enforcement agencies to foil designs of anti state elements and people freely celebrate ceremony on the occasion.
Waseem Ahmed while thanking IG FC said that he had encouraged him by inviting him here. He also thanks him for providing sponsorship for coming events. He said he won silver medal for the country and the nation and would win gold medal by working hard.
