TANK, Sept 18 (Online): Chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Maulana Fazl Ur Rehman has said that some elements want to sabotage dialogue process with Taliban and incidents such as that of Upper Dir should not be made a hurdle in the dialogue process.
Talking to media persons here after casting his vote on Wednesday, the JUI-F chief said both government and the Taliban should keep an eye on elements who are bent on sabotaging the dialogue process.
Besides upper Dir incident the good will measures by the Taliban such as that of release of Gomal Zam Dam hostages should also be kept in mind.
He said politicians and military leadership both had given mandate of talks to the government and this mandate should be fulfilled.
Maulana Fazl said it was unanimously decided in the APC that we have to move the dialogue process with Taliban forward with full confidence. No incident should hold the dialogue process hostage and we should move forward.
The media also needs to exercise some caution and should promote positive activities of Taliban and should not do such reporting that situation goes to a point of no return, he said.
Maulana Fazl further said that the country is passing through critical phase and are facing multiple challenges. We need to move forward with positive approach.
Accusing the KPK provincial government of partiality in by-election on NA-25 Tank the JUI-F chief claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government was interfering in the affairs of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and its officers were violating rule and regulations.
He alleged that the ECP has failed to discharge its obligations. “Election Commission is playing role as a silent spectator.â€
