QUETTA sep 18 (PPI): People and businessmen need consultation of organizations like SMEDA for commercial matters, establishing industrial zone in Balochistan, processing of minerals, fresh fruits and dry fruits, setting up cold storage and creating employment avenues in the province.
This was stated by Regional Chairman for FPCCI in Balochistan and senior leader of Businessmen panel Naseebullah Tareen while chairing joint meting of SMEDA, First Women Bank and business community of the province at Federation House here.
Provincial Chief SMEDA Abdul Shakoor, Sohail Ansari, Uza Khan, President Pishin chamber Asif Khan Tareen, Ismail Baloch, Ali Gohar Baloch, Chairman Pak-Iran Joint Business Forum and others attended.
He said Balochistan is rich in minerals but unfortunately these are being sold as wholesale markets in other parts of the country and people of these provinces were benefitting from minerals of our province. It is because there are no arrangements for processing these minerals in Balochistan. Therefore these minerals are sold at cheaper rates. Simultaneously there is not plant for fresh fruits of the province. In the absence of this facility our fresh fruits lack standard. At the same time there is transport problem for these fruits to the other provinces.
He said for the first time we have reached an agreement with Constant body SMEDA for the processing of minerals, fresh and dry fruits, coal mines, export processing zones and establishing Expo Centres. FPCCI regional office was in contact with SMEDA which would provide us guidance for the promotion of trade.
