QUETTA Nov 1 (PPI): Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said provincial ministers and members of assembly should monitor anti polio drive to safe their children from this disease and create awareness among the masses against this disease. They should also insist parent in case of their denial form polio vaccine their children may become disabled for life.
He expressed these views during a briefing on polio by Secretary Health Arshad Bugti here Saturday.
Provincial ministers Rehmat Saleh Baloch, Dr Hamid Achakzai, Sarfraz Bugti, Nawab Ayaz Jogezai, Ghulam Mustafa Tareen, Provincial Adviser Sardar Raza Barech, Chief Secretary Saifullah Chatha, Inspector General Balochistan Police Amlish Khan, Principal Secretary Muhammad Naseem Lehri, Secretary Home Akbar Hussain Durrani, Commissioner Quetta Qambar Dashti, Director General Health Naseer Ahmed Baloch and concerned officers attended.
Chief Minister said polio was making our children disable. To save them from polio is crusade and major service of the nation and humanity. Except few countries Polio has been ended from the world. Our children are becoming disabled due to this fatal disease on one hand while on the other there is apprehension of imposition of international travel restrictions on us. Not ending polio from or country is cause of concern for entire world.
Chief Minister directed that immunization programme should be made more effective to save children from diseases. He said action would be taken against officers and doctors for bad performance and giving no results. To us he added not people but objectives and service to the people is important.
He directed Secretary Health that performance of all hospitals including BMC and Civil hospitals should be regularly viewed and steps should be taken to provide better facilities of health to the masses and plight of hospitals.
Chief Minister asked details of Rupees one billion equipment for the government hospitals and directed him that people should be apprised of medicines and equipment through media so that they could take benefit of these.
