QUETTA Nov 2 (PPI): There are 28 mosques along Ashura procession route. None of these mosques would be sealed nor there will be any ban on saying azan. Faithful would offer prayers according to programme.
This was stated by Capital City Police Officer Abdul Razzaq Cheema while speaking to newsmen after press conference of provincial Information minister Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal here Sunday.
He said talks have also been held with Jamaat Ahle sunnat. They would not hold any demonstration or dharna on Ashura. Further talks would be held with them after Muharram.
He said office bearers of Balochistan Shia Conference have assured us that participants of Ashura procession would not carry weapons even licensed weapons. We are sure assurance given by Shia conference would be materialized.
Qadir Baloch said a procession would arrive Quetta form mach on Ashura day. We would receive it at Western By Pass and provide them security form this point including Police, FC, ATF.
He said Quetta city would be monitored by secret cameras. We would also have assistance of Army and at time of need would call them. Tenth Muharram Procession he added would be monitored by helicopter. We have made strict security measures and as are satisfied with these arrangements.
He said we hope people would also cooperate with us because without their cooperation no force can maintain law and order. Police has always served people and sacrificed its lives for security to life and property of people. Our jawans have courage they would maintain law and order on Ashura and provide cooperation to the people.
