QUETTA Nov 3 (PPI): Yom e Ashur, the Tenth of Muharramul Haram, would be observed in remembrance of supreme sacrifice of martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA) and his associates in Karbala in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan with great religious enthusiasm Tuesday.
Ashura procession would be taken out here Monday. It would march on its traditional route of Alamdar Road, Toghi Road, Chowk Mission road, Liaqat Bazaar, Prince Road and terminate at its point of origin in the afternoon in the evening.
Strict foolproof security measures have been made for the occasion. Over five thousand personnel of police, security forces, Levies and other law enforcement agencies have been deployed and Pak Army has been put on high alert.
Thirteen imam bargahs have been declared as most sensitive, 24 sensitive and 53 normal. Ashura procession would also be monitored by helicopters while CCTV cameras have also been installed for the purpose.
There will be complete ban of carrying firearms in the procession.
Control rooms have been setup at Police, FC Headquarters and DC office. Other district authorities have been asked to do so. Deployment of force has been made in consultation with people, tribal elders and in the light of information of law enforcement agencies.
People from different walks of life and particularly Ulema have appealed to the people to extend cooperation on Ashura Day and keep vigil on suspected persons so that it is passes with peace.
Meanwhile 9 th Muharram procession was taken from imam bargah Nasirul Aza Mcconghy road here today. It terminated at Imam Bargah Kalan after passing through its traditional route. Strict security measures were made on the occasion. All the roads leading to the procession route were blocked. Pillion riding and mobile phone service was also banned in the city.
It passed off peacefully.
