QUETTA Nov 3 (PPI): There lies a great significance in mother?s milk both for mother and child. First milk proves to be first vaccine for the children.
This was stated by Deputy Director Nutrition Cell Dr Abid Panezai and Dr Zeenatun Nisa Taran while addressing at seminar organized by Nutrition Cell in collaboration with UNICEF at Jam Shifa Hospital.
They said mother?s milk is birth right of children and they should not be deprived of this. Quran Hakeem also orders mothers for feeding milk to their children for two years. There is great significance both for mother and her children in this order. Mother?s milk is necessary for child?s physical, mental and spiritual growth. Mother also remains healthy by feeding her child. Chances of excessive bleeding during pregnancy and breast cancer also reduce. There is birth control among children and unnecessary weight reduces. They said children should be fed mother?s milk in first hour of his birth and it should be fed upto six months. After six months mothers should feed their children milk along with soft food.
Earlier Chief Executive Jam Shifa General (R ) Muhammad Ishaq highlighted performance of the hospital said that it was providing free medical facilities to Afghan refugee women, their children and women and children in the vicinity for the last 22 year. It organizes seminars on importance of mother?s milk and other medical subjects every year. It established free medical camp in Multan and provided medical facilities to about five thousand flood hit people.
Chief guest Chairman District Zakat Committee Zainul Abideen also appreciated services of Jam Shifa hospital. He also assured Nutrition Cell and hospital of his cooperation and said we would cooperate in organising similar seminars.
