PISHIN Nov 11 (PPI): Provincial Government after approval of Chief Minister has informed Election Commission of Pakistan for completion of final phase of Local bodies elections. Elections of kissans, labourers, Mayors, Deputy Mayors, Chairmen and Deputy Chairmen?s seats would be held shortly and local bodies institutions would be fully functional.
These views were expressed by Balochistan Chief Secretary Saifullah Chatha at his meeting with newly elected Councilors of District Pishin Tuesday.
Provincial Ministers Rehmat Saleh Baloch, Sardar Mustafa Tareen, MPA Liaqat Ali Agha, Secretary Education Abdul Saboor Kakar, Commissioner Quetta Division QambarDashti, Deputy Commissioner Pishin Bashir Bazai and District Health Officer were also present at the meeting.
Chief Secretary said that purpose of meeting with newly elected councilors is achieving targets set for polio drive with their assistance. He said Councilors are elected representatives of people in whom their electorates have expressed confidence. It is their responsibility now to resolve people?s problems at grass roots level particularly play their effective and key role for the eradication of dangerous disease of polio. He asked them to help polio teams to reach every house so that no child upto five years is left form taking anti polio drops.
He said it is national mission and we all have to jointly make this successful to free the province of polio. He called upon councilors to inform people about the fatal impacts of polio and about importance of polio drive. They should insist parent refusing polio drops to their children that to save them from lifelong disability feeding polio drops is utmost necessary.
Councilors assured him that they would play their role for the success of anti polio campaign.
Chief Secretary also reviewed performance of polio drive and problems in this regard. Chief Secretary ordered resolution of some problems indicted by team leaders. He expressed pleasure that for the last three years no polio case was reported in Pishin and its credit goes to po9lio workers and Ulema, political and social elders as well as poltii8cla parties and they deserve congratulations.
