Militant kills,six soldiers hurt in Jamrud

LANDIKOTAL November 12, 2014(PPI) An alleged militant attacker was shot dead while six Frontier Corps (FC) troops sustained injuries when the former assaulted with hand grenade on the forces patrolling party on Tuesday night here in Ali Masijd area of tehsil Jamrud, official and local sources said.
The forces sources informed,the FC personnel were on their routine duty when the militant threw hand grenade,wounding six of them. In retaliation the attacker was shot and killed on the spot,sources said.
Meanwhile curfew was imposed and search operation was initiated in Ghundai,Pump house and Shahkas areas of Jamrud here on Wednesday. In Chapari area of Jamrud, two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were defused and a stronghold of the militants was demolished,sources said.
Separately,the forces have claimed to have killed 19 militants in aerial strikes conducted by the air force jets here in Sandapal and Aka Khel,the remote areas of Tirrah valley of Khyber Agency on Wednesday.
Huge cache of arms and ammunition and five sanctuaries of the militants were also destroyed in the air bombing,sources said. However, the casauilites could not be confirmed from the independent sources.
