QUETTA Nov 18 (PPI): Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said trend of illegal immigration, human smuggling can be controlled by ending poverty, unemployment, hunger, establishing law and order, better governance. He said government was striving to control human smuggling in the province. However in view of vast area of the province there are some difficulties when need attention.
He expressed these views while addressing a seminar on Human Smuggling organised by UNODC and FIA here Tuesday.
He said reasons should be found for ending human smuggling. So long people would continue to suffer from poverty, hunger, and insecurity they would continue to migrate to foreign countries for better opportunities and in search of employment. He said during 70s people form Mekran also migrated to Gulf countries and several times they were thrown in the sea and they died. He said immigrants to foreign countries not only endanger their lives but they very often suffer from difficulties and problems there. He said launching of awareness campaign in this regard is useful and said several lives can be saved thus and trend of migrating to foreign countries can be reduced. He said government was striving to control human smuggling in Balochistan but in view of vast area of the province there are some difficulties on which attention is needed.
Addressing the seminar Chairman Hazara Democratic Party Abdul Khaliq Hazara said so far two thousand Hazara people have been killed and almost an equal number have drowned in sea. It can be well guessed however many children have become orphans and how many women became widows. He aid Our PHD passed young men were working in orchards in Australia. It is also matter of grave concern that Grade-18 officers were also migrating to that country. He said three people were killed in Alamdar Road explosion. When a mother went to graveyard she suffered heart attack while weeping on grave of her son and died.
He said if human smuggling is crime or taking lives of human being.
He said people slept Hazara men and said why they had come here. He said mothers were selling their jewelry and giving money to their sons to leave this country in a bid to save their lives.
