QUETTA Nov 23 (PPI): Pakistan People?s party has rendered massive sacrifices for democracy and would continue to do so. Party forms government but workers strengthen it and provide its security.
These views were expressed by President PPP Balochistan and former provincial minister Muhammad Sadiq Umrani while addressing provincial Council meeting here Sunday.
Senior party leaders Jamal Jogezai, Iqbal Shah, Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Javaid Ahmed, former provincial minister Jaffar George and others were also present.
Sadiq Umrani said PPP is party of democracy and martyrs. It has rendered sacrifices in every regime and would make efforts for improving country?s stability, democracy and implementation of Bhutto ism would continue. Those criticizing PPP government are confronted with criticism and crises today. There is difference between PPP and present government it faced all crises boldly while present government is baffled of one dharna of party.
He asked party office bearers and workers c to come forward to strength and activating party so that it comes against to power in the days ahead and serve masses.
He said sacrifices made by party for democracy and resolution of people?s problems are before all. Resources provided by party leadership we failed to give them to the masses. It was our inaptness. Government did not make any planning and resources provided by former President to Balochistan during five years could not be utilized properly. We had proposed the then Chief Minister to provide Rupees 100 million development projects to party in every district so that these could be utilized according to the aspirations of the people for the betterment of areas. But it was not implemented.
He said law and order situation was badly deteriorated and corruption was at its peak in Balochistan. Every citizen was facing insecurity. He said during one and half years corruption has increased to 80 percent.
Sadiq Umrani said we admit Dr Malik Baloch is noble and poor man and we respect him. But providing security to the citizens and stop killing of innocent people is responsibility of the government. He said in the recent past a government servant was killed along with children during broad daylight in Mithri. Still his killers were not arrested nor investigation made any headway.
He said PPP desires to ensure law and order, country?s stability and stability of economy in the country. Nationalists government in Balochistan did not initiate any development work in the province. We condemn it.
President PPP Balochistan said PPP is organizing founding day in Lahore on Nov 30. Party workers should attend it and give their names and CNIC numbers so that arrangements for their transportation and taking them to venue of meeting and opportunity to talk according to policy of co chairman.
He said PPP has always struggle on the basis of ideologies and would do so now on. We have suffered imprisonment. Performance of workers is before him. Responsibilities have been assigned to Youth wing, Labour Wing, PSF, party ticket holders, women Wings.
Meeting reviewed Nov 30 founding Day of party and formed committees for the successful founding day celebrations.
