QUETTA Dec 5 (PPI): Immediate steps should be taken for reforms at the Revenue Department while a booth should be setup at Tehsil Quetta where fees under the head of transfer of lands should be deposited.
This was stated by President PML Balochistan and Provincial Minister for Revenue, Excise and Transport Shaikh Jaffar Mandokhel while chairing a meeting of Revenue Department here Friday.
Jaffar Mandokhel directed that a senior officer should be deployed to review rate at the Tehsil office and report of transfer of lands should be sent to Minister?s office positive on daily basis so that daily performance and transfer of land could be reviewed.
He also directed that settlement operation should also be started immediately. These measures are aimed at to improve performance of Revenue Department and bringing reformation and give relief to the people which was among his priorities.
Meeting reviewed tax on lands. Senior MBR told that 11 percent tax is very much high and it should be brought down. Agreeing with Senior MBR Minister said we have already stated tax is burden on people. We want to rid the people fo this burden and steps would also be taken for welfare of people and their relief by the department. He directed that this tax should be curtailed to 5/6 percent.
He also directed Revenue Department to immediately post an officer of Assistant Commissioner status so that problems of people could be resolved speedily and performance of department could be improved.
