QUETTA Dec 6 (PPI): Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has called upon writers, intellects and poets to utilize their pen for development of society and its betterment and making language and literature their habit they should make personality of Gul Khan Naseer and his thoughts their beacon light.
He expressed these views while addressing closing session of International seminar on eve of centenary celebrations of birth of Gul Khan Naseer here Saturday.
He specially thanked organizers of seminar and officials of Culture Department for organising successful seminar on work and personality of Gul Khan Naseer by gathering writers and intellects form various parts of the country including Pakistan.
Chief Minister said nations who forget their leaders are forgotten by the history. Gul Khan Naseer all along his life struggled to bring Baloch nation at par with developed nations of the world and promotion of Balochi language and literature. He said our writers and intellectuals need to make personality and his work beacon light of their life.
He said a lot has to be cone on Gul Khan Naseer and research scholars should come forward in this regard.
He said present coalition government was taking serious measures for development and promotion of mother languages. We have commitment to work for development and promotion of Balochi, Brahvi, Pashto and other languages and we would not go back from it. We have not only enhanced annual grant of Baloch, Brahvi and Pashto Academies to Rupees 10 million but we have also taken historic steps to enforce mother languages at the primary level.
Dr malik Baloch said identity of any nation is with its language. Some time ago he read that Balochi and Brahvi languages would fade away in the days ahead he was very much frightened. But attending this seminar and after listening to papers of scholars he has reached to the conclusion that these languages will not die off. What we need is to develop these languages further for which there are heavy responsibilities on teachers, writers, intellectuals and journalists.
He also distributed shields among the guests.
