QUETTA: The Pashtoonkhaw Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) has demanded of the concerned authorities to revise the public transport fares in Balochistan afresh so that the passengers may get necessary relief after reduction in prices of petrol and petroleum prices.
In a provincial statement of the party issued here, it was termed anti-public move of the transporters not to reduce the transport fares despite marked reduction in prices of the petrol and petroleum products in the country.
It was pointed out that the transport fares were reduced in other parts of the country but the same has not been done in Baloch-Pashtoon province to the utter disappointment of its people.
The transporters are charging almost the same fare from the passengers in the province, which was being charged before reduction in prices of petrol and diesel in the country, it was regretfully pointed out further.
It was demanded of the government and particularly provincial transport authorities to ensure reduction in transport fares making the transporters bound to follow the decision in this regard.
It was also demanded to make the local buses plying on various routes of the Quetta city bound to reduce the transport fares.
Strict action should be taken against those not reducing the fares, it was maintained.
