QUETTA Jan 3 (PPI): In the continuation of policies evolved at the Federal level against terrorism 40 people have been arrested and 20 shops sealed and objectionable literature by police in Balochistan including Quetta. This drive would continue indefinitely.
This was stated by Capital city Police Officer Abdul Razzaq Cheema at a press conference here Saturday.
He said in the wake of policy framed at the federal level in the wake of Peshawar Incident Southern Command, IG Police, Home Department and Government of Balochistan action has been launched against literature spreading hatred all over Balochistan including Quetta. Raids were conducted on shops at Bacha Khan chowk, Kuchlak, Satellite town, Sariab road and other areas and seized literature creating hatred in the name of religious and nations, 49 computers, 5 USBs, 46 booklets of various nature. Besides 715 detonators were also recovered from a shop. He said 20 shops were sealed and 40 persons were taken into custody.
He said legal exerts would be consulted what action can be taken against literature recovered. It included literature of TTP Jihadis and some nationalist organisations. He said shopkeepers were being investigated the literature was provided to them by whom and where.
Answering a question he said security arrangements on 12 th Rabiul Awwal. A coordination has been developed between Police, FcCand administration. Special vigil has been kept the procession routes.
