Fares of Makran division public transport fixed: Secretary PTA

QUETTA: A meeting was held in connection with implementation on the official fares by the public transport as well as bringing improvement in their condition, here the other day.
The Secretary Transport and Chairman PTA, Muhammad Khalid Baloch had directed to do so.
The meeting was attended by the representative of the Regional Transport Authority, Jan Muhammad Muhammad Hassani, representative of PTA, Muhammad Amin and other concerned officials besides the President of Transport Union Quetta, Makran Division, Haji Ali Nawaz Lehri, Saeed Ahmed Zehri, Muhammad Rahim Mengal and other transporters.
The meeting decided to take steps for improving condition of the public transport plying in Makran division as well as replacing the outdates buses with the new ones.
It was also decided to take stern action against those transporters overcharging the transport fares despite reduction in prices of the petrol and petroleum products.
It was mentioned that the public transport fares have been reduced by nine percent by the government in Balochistan and as such all the transporters should follow the decision made in this regard and charge the fares fixed by the government.
Moreover, it was also decided to take stern action against the vehicles plying without authorized route permits in Makran division.
No one would be allowed to ply the public transport without valid permit, it was decided further.
During the meeting, the fares were also fixed for Makran division as under:
Turbat-Quetta (Rs.1800), Turbat-Karachi (Rs. 1200), Turbat-Gwadar (Rs.400), Turbat-Pasni (Rs. 400), Turbat-Mand (Rs. 300), Turbat-Hoshab (Rs. 300), Turbat-Buleda (Rs. 400), Pasni-Karachi (Rs. 900), Jeewani-Karachi (Rs. 1500), Gwadar-Pasni (Rs.150), Pasni-Ormara (Rs.150), Gwadar-Jeewani (Rs. 280), Panjgur-Quetta (Rs.1000), Panjgur-Awaran (Rs.700), Panjgur-Karachi (Rs. 1500), Panjgur-Turbat (Rs.1000).
As per the official hand out issued here the other day, the transporters were agreed to the Secretary PTA on the fares fixed for different routes.
It was also assured by the transporters to follow the fares and bring improvement in condition of their transport.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary PTA Abdul Khaliq Mandokhail directed to the concerned quarters to ensure implementation on the transport fares in the province.
