QUETTA: The Zamindar Action Committee (ZAC) Balochistan has announced to stage sit-in in front of the Governor’s House and Chief Minister’s Secretariat on January 19 as a mark of protest against lengthy power load shedding and their other related issues.
The zamindars from all over the province would gather in front of the Governor’s House and Chief Minister’s Secretariat and stage dharna to press the government to resolve the issue of power load shedding and subsidy on the agriculture tube wells in the province, announced a leader of ZAC Balochistan, Abdul Rehman Bazai while talking to the media here.
He said that the zamindars are forced to lodge strong protest against the issue of load shedding in the province particularly in its rural areas.
The agriculture sector is severely affected due to the load shedding of electricity being observed in the province, Bazai regretfully pointed out.
He said that the persistent spell of drought and existing power load shedding has made the life of zamindars miserable making it very hard for them to make their both ends meet, he maintained.
But, the government and other concerned quarters are not paying any heed towards the issue, he charged.
If the issue was not resolved even after the protest sit-in, then the shutter down call would be given for Quetta city, the ZAC leader said adding that we have planned to give call of shutter down for January 23. Afterwards, we would go for wheel jam strike on the highways all over the province against the issue, he asserted.
