Annual Sibi Festival to be made successful: Secretary Livestock

QUETTA: The Secretary Livestock and Dairy Development, Muhammad Siddique Mandokhail has said that all available resources are being mobilized for promotion of livestock sector in the province.
He said that necessary facilities would be provided to the livestock breeders and cattle buyers coming to Sibi for the annual historical festival from all over the country including Balochistan.
This and similar views were expressed by Siddique Mandokhail while talking to the newsmen during his visit to Sibi the other day.
Also present on the occasion were Dr. Baig Muhammad Kakar, Divisional Director, Dr. Afzal Nodhani, Beef Research Center’s Superintendent, Dr. Abdul Wahid Baloch, Dr. Aziz Usmani, Dr. Shah Muhammad Khajak, Dr. Abdur Rehman and others.
He said that his visit of Sibi was aimed at reviewing the arrangements made or being made for the forthcoming annual Sibi festival.
He said that the Sibi festival on one hand provides recreation to the people, it also plays important role in promotion of livestock and sale and purchase of cattles, on the other hand.
The Secretary Livestock on the occasion announced that the Rural Poultry Farm would be set up in Sibi. We also plan to do shutar murgh farming in Sibi and for the purpose a farm would also be established there, he informed adding that beef processing unit would be established for increasing production in meat.
It may be mentioned here that the Sibi Poultry Farm was closed for last around 10 years. However, it would be made functional within next two weeks so that the citizens may get the chicken meat and eggs on cheaper rates, as announced by the Secretary Livestock department.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Siddique Mandokhail visited the Beef Research Center, Sibi. He was briefed about the production of meat and milk by the Center Superintendent, Dr. Abdul Wahid Baloch, Dr. Aziz Usmani and Dr. Shah Muhammad.
During the visit, the Provincial Secretary Livestock also went round of the festival Ground and Stadium.
He also inspected the veterinary hospital besides reviewing the arrangements of the festival.
