QUETTA: The Chairman of the Senate’s Standing Committee for less developed areas, Mir Yousaf Badini has demanded of the federal government to order for restoration of subsidy, which had been granted to the agriculturists on agriculture tube wells on the electricity bills in Balochistan province.
In a statement issued here, Senator Yousaf Badini said that withdrawal of subsidy on the agriculture tube wells is nothing but is tantamount to the economic destruction of the zamindars of the province.
He said that we are not going to accept the situation.
He pointed out that due to non-existence of the industries and job opportunities, mostly the people are dependent on the agriculture in the province.
Hundreds of thousands people are leading their lives being associated with the agriculture sector in Balochistan, he maintained.
Yousaf Badini also regretfully pointed out towards the issue of lengthy power load shedding being observed in the province. At the time when the severe power load shedding is taking heavy toll of the agriculture sector in Balochistan, the withdrawal of subsidy on the agriculture tube wells is a great highhandedness with the agriculturists, he charged.
He also said that it is an attempt to deprive them of their livelihood.
